Partners both on and off-stage, Renjith Babu and Vijna Vasudevan are part of the new generation of classical Indian dance, pushing the borders of bharatnatyam amd elevating the art of the jugalbandi (duet).
Renjith and Vijna exemplify the kalakshetra style of bharathnatyam, with its emphasis on straight lines and exaggerated geometry, yet are influenced by yoga, the martial art kalaripayattu, as well as other dance styles, so as to fill their performances with 'brilliant and unexpected choreographical twists' (India Herald) while working within the trational framework.
