Definitely would go again. The tour even though it only lasted 30 mins was just the right length of time and very worthwhile. As I discovered on my visit, some times they are rehearsing a play. This was amazing as I wasn't able to get tickets to a play in the time I was in London. The guide was very funny and knew how to keep his audience entertained, even with all of the different languages in the group. Thank you for an amazing morning before I went home.

Our London Trip

Bought our tickets online prior to our trip down to London for the same day. Went to the tower first as we knew it would get very busy in the Summer Holidays. Easy to exchange our home printed tickets for our tower tickets at the group desk at the tower. The tower was interesting, just make sure you wear sensible shoes, ladies, wear trousers, skirts are not best, lots of steps and ramparts to walk up and along. My ten year old is really into Horrible Histories so she was quite happy to make connections between what she has learnt and the Tower's history. Plenty of facilities for food and toileting. We spent half a day here which was enough. Great views of the Thames from the tower walls.
The Globe Trip initially was disappointing. Only in that we had planned to go and view it in the afternoon but it was closed as there was a show on, but the theatre honoured our ticket and allowed us to come back and see it the next day, We were not aware that it was closed in the afternoon so be aware when visiting. This trip was really for me. My daughter didn't enjoy it as much as I did. If you've studied Shakespeare and enjoy theatre then this is a really magical experience. The tour guides make it a truly memorable experience putting their own personal slant onto things. If we had had more time I would have stayed to see a show but we had to catch a train home. The prices for the Globe are reasonable, the tour time is only half an hour but you are invited to go back into the exhibition if you would like too afterwards and there are handsets with commentary for more in-depth information.
So for reference - if you can book the Globe Tour the first thing in the morning, it opens at 9am-12am in the Summer, and then go across to the Tower it opens at 10am.
Plain Sailing

The website was so easy to use. Technology and I have never seen eye to eye, but I had no trouble at all using the website. The 'online tickets', to be exchanged at each venue for 'real tickets' caused no problems or holdups. As I said it was plain sailing and the venues were a delight to see.

My 15 year old and his Grandma really enjoyed the tour and museum. While they were waiting for the tour to start they were able to look at some of the costumes, which passed the time. It was a bonus that they were able to see a rehearsal taking place. Would recommend for all age groups.
